I pay special attention to hard callusses which are also filed with a special coarse nail file. When finished, the foot will be dried and lotion will be applied with tender massage.
If you have symptoms of lower extremity disease, such an loss of sensation in your lower extremity and sudden pain, you could be at risk! This screening is essential in identifying this high risk condition. A referral will be made to appropriate medical profossional for further evaluation as needed.
I can provide free educational teaching to your group of 5 or more at your facility. Learn how to take care of your feet! Most groups love the seminar and find it very informative.
Seminars are only done on Tues and Wednesdays.
Worried about the safety of your loved one? Want to increase independent living? Have a safety evaluation done in their home and learn what you need to implement to increase safety and reduce safety risk s.
QUESTIONS YOU NEED TO ASK:
Does your foot care nurse provide a risk assessment of your lower extremity? Is your nurse able to identify high risk conditions, such as arterial disease, venous insufficiency and neuropathy?
Did you know that according to the Center of Disease control that 50% of amputations can be prevented by wearing the proper foot wear! Is your nurse assessing your foot wear?
Only 10 nurses in MN have a certified foot care credential, including myself. Are your nurses board certified? While RNs who are not board ceftified possess basic entry-level skills, they may not have the specialized skills and experience to adequately provide expert care. (2008)
Are you receiving education for conditions you have in your lower extremity?
